ISLAND SPORTS CANGGU
Three panoramic courts surrounded by rice fields, with fitness, recovery, golf, food and a rooftop pool making Island Sports much more than somewhere to simply book a game.

THE CLUB
Island Sports Canggu opened in October 2023 with a concept built around more than padel alone. The Berawa club combines three panoramic courts with fitness, indoor golf, recovery, food and drink in one sports and wellness destination.
The setting is a big part of its character. The club sits alongside rice fields, giving the courts an open outlook and a glimpse of the older Bali landscape that can be harder to find around modern Canggu.
BPS played here in April 2025 and found the wider setup worked well in practice. Padel is the starting point, but the fitness, recovery and rooftop facilities give plenty of reason to stay after the game.
COURTS & PLAY
Island Sports has three panoramic padel courts, which were in good condition during the BPS visit.
The open setting is one of the nicest parts of playing here. Air moves across from the neighbouring rice fields and the outlook gives the courts a more relaxed feel than some of Bali's tightly packed padel centres.
BPS played an Americano tournament during the April 2025 visit. It was well organised and had a strong social atmosphere, with competitive padel without losing the relaxed club feel.
The limitation is simply capacity. Three courts isn't a lot for a popular club in Berawa, and finding a suitable game or court can be difficult. If you know when you want to play, booking early is the way to go.
COACHING
Coaching is available across different levels, from players learning the game through to those looking to sharpen specific parts of their padel.
Private coaching starts from IDR 950K per person. Sessions can be booked through Island Sports.
BPS didn't personally take a coaching session during the April 2025 visit, so the coaching program isn't separately assessed as part of the BPS rating.
FOOD & DRINK
Island Sports has an on-site restaurant and sports bar, making it easy to stay around before or after playing rather than heading straight back into Canggu.
BPS only had a fresh coconut during this visit, so there isn't a first-hand food review attached to the page.
The food and drink offering does, however, fit naturally into the wider club setup, particularly for players staying around to use the fitness or recovery facilities.
WHAT'S HAPPENING
Island Sports mixes regular padel with coaching, tournaments and social play, giving the three-court setup a strong community feel.
BPS experienced this first-hand through an Americano tournament. The event was well run and struck a good balance between competitive play and the social side of padel.
Court numbers do limit availability, so it's worth checking the Island Padel booking platform well ahead of the time you want to play.
FITNESS & RECOVERY
This is where Island Sports becomes more than a three-court padel centre. The wider club includes a fitness centre and dedicated recovery facilities, with a sauna, multiple ice baths, hot tub and rooftop pool.
The layout helps separate the different parts of the experience. Padel sits downstairs, while the fitness, recovery and wellness areas above give players somewhere to train, recover or simply relax after their game.
There's also indoor golf, adding another dimension to the wider Island Sports concept even though it sits outside the standard BPS padel facilities rating.
FACILITIES
BPS PHOTOS
Island Sports Canggu combines three good padel courts with a strong fitness and recovery setup in one of Berawa's more distinctive rice-field settings.
BPS played a well-run Americano here in April 2025. The courts were in good condition and the open setting was a highlight, with a breeze coming across the neighbouring rice fields and an outlook that still gives this part of Berawa a little of that older Bali feel.
What makes Island Sports more interesting is everything around the padel. The fitness centre, recovery facilities and rooftop pool turn it into somewhere you can spend considerably longer than your court booking. BPS particularly liked the transition from padel downstairs to the fitness and wellness areas above.
With only three courts, availability is the trade-off. Games and court times can be difficult to secure, particularly during popular periods.
For competitive or social players who want fitness, recovery and a relaxed setting alongside their padel, Island Sports offers much more than its three-court count might suggest.
GOOD TO KNOW
Three courts means availability can disappear quickly. If you have a particular day or time in mind, don't leave the booking until the last minute.
Court hire is IDR 150K per player, equivalent to IDR 600K per court for 60 minutes with four players.
Island Sports has multiple ice baths, sauna, hot tub and other recovery options, making it worth allowing extra time after your game.
Head upstairs after playing. The rooftop pool overlooking the surrounding rice fields is one of the features that separates Island Sports from a standard padel centre.
Island Sports offers membership options covering the wider sports and wellness facilities, with separate packages also available for wellness and golf.
Fitness, indoor golf, recovery, food and the rooftop pool make this somewhere you can build a much longer visit around your padel booking.
