THE CLUB
TAO Padel Academy brings together padel, fitness, recovery and food in one of the most complete club setups BPS has experienced in Ubud.
The club centres around four full-panoramic courts, but TAO is much more than somewhere to arrive, play and leave. There's a swimming pool, gym, sauna, ice bath, Pilates, massage, café and plenty of space to spend time before or after a game.
BPS played here in January 2026 and the combination worked. The courts were excellent, the club was busy without feeling cramped and the wellness facilities genuinely became part of the visit rather than simply extras listed on a facilities page.
COURTS & PLAY
TAO's four panoramic courts were in excellent condition during the BPS visit. They're bright, spacious and modern, with high roofs and plenty of room around the playing area.
BPS joined a high-level open match and found the overall playing experience excellent. There were plenty of games available across different levels and a good mix of social and more competitive play.
The club is popular, though. The better open matches can fill, so this is one where BPS recommends finding your game and booking ahead rather than assuming you'll pick something up when you arrive.
The playing environment also benefits from everything happening around the courts. There were players arriving for games, spectators watching, people training and others using the wellness facilities, giving TAO plenty of energy throughout the visit.
COACHING
Coaching is a major part of the TAO setup, with private training, team sessions and academy-style development available for players wanting more than an occasional lesson.
Private coaching starts from IDR 1M per player, while team training is available from IDR 500K per player.
BPS didn't personally take a coaching session during the January 2026 visit, so the coaching program isn't rated separately as part of the first-hand assessment.
FOOD & DRINK
The café fits TAO's wider wellness focus and gives players somewhere to properly refuel rather than relying on a basic courtside snack bar.
After 90 minutes of padel and time in the recovery facilities, BPS stayed for lunch and had a healthy meal followed by a fresh coconut. The food was excellent and rounded out the whole experience.
Seating is available around the café, outdoors and in the spectator stands, so you can eat while still being part of what's happening around the courts.
WHAT'S HAPPENING
TAO has a strong playing community with open matches, coaching, tournaments, events and social activity built around the club.
BPS found plenty of options when looking for a game and joined a high-level open match. Popular games can book out, so planning ahead through Playtomic is worthwhile.
What stood out was that the community didn't disappear as soon as a match finished. Players were hanging around, using the pool and recovery facilities, eating and watching other games. That gives TAO more of a club feel than a simple court-hire venue.
FACILITIES
BPS PHOTOS
TAO combines excellent padel with one of the strongest post-game wellness experiences BPS found in Ubud.
The four courts are bright, spacious and in excellent condition, with high roofs and plenty of room around the playing area. BPS joined a high-level open match and found plenty of other games available, with a strong mix of social and competitive players.
What really separated TAO was everything after the game. Following 90 minutes of padel, BPS used the pool, gym, sauna and ice bath before finishing with a healthy lunch and fresh coconut.
That experience is what makes TAO work. The wellness facilities aren't simply extras sitting beside the courts — they become part of the reason to visit. Players, spectators and people using the facilities all share the same space, creating a busy but relaxed club atmosphere.
For players who like the idea of combining a proper padel session with training, recovery and good food, TAO is particularly strong. Based on the January 2026 BPS visit, it was the standout club BPS played in Ubud.
GOOD TO KNOW
TAO is busy and the stronger open matches can fill quickly. If you have a particular level or time in mind, find your game on Playtomic and book ahead.
The BPS visit went well beyond the 90-minute match. Allow extra time afterwards for the pool, gym, sauna and ice bath.
Court players receive access to TAO's gym, swimming pool, sauna and ice bath, making the facilities a genuine part of the value.
Open matches, coaching, tournaments and other activities run through the club. Check Playtomic for current games and availability.
VIEW WHAT'S ON →Pilates and massage sit alongside the gym and recovery facilities, so TAO works particularly well for anyone combining padel with a broader training or wellness routine.
BPS finished the visit with a healthy lunch and fresh coconut. The café and seating areas make it easy to stay around after playing rather than heading straight out.
