GILI ISLANDS
Three tiny islands off Lombok, three very different ways to do an island escape. Come for clear water, beaches and life without cars — and, increasingly, the chance to fit padel into the trip.
A small island scene where every new court makes a difference.
Padel mixed with beaches, snorkelling, diving and island life.
Walking and cycling are part of the experience.
Small islands, ocean views and a very different rhythm from Bali.
WHY THE
GILIS?
The Gilis are exactly the kind of place that makes travelling with a racket more interesting.
You aren't coming here because you need ten clubs within fifteen minutes. You're coming because you want an island escape — and being able to get a game while you're here makes the trip even better.
The bigger decision is which island suits you. Gili Trawangan, Gili Air and Gili Meno sit close together, but the experience on each can be very different.
WHICH GILI
IS FOR YOU?
Don't choose purely by what's closest on the map. The three islands have different personalities, so your accommodation, nightlife and overall trip can change significantly depending on where you stay.
GILI
TRAWANGAN
The largest and liveliest of the three. Gili T has the widest range of accommodation, restaurants, bars and things happening after dark.
GILI
AIR
The middle ground. Gili Air combines a laid-back island feel with enough cafés, restaurants and social life that you don't feel completely removed from everything.
GILI
MENO
The smallest and quietest of the three. Meno is much more about slowing down, beaches and escaping than filling every hour of the day.
PLAYING
THE GILIS.
Island padel is a different proposition from playing in Bali's major club hubs.
There are fewer options, so where the courts are located can genuinely influence which island makes the most sense for a padel player.
That's also why BPS will track upcoming clubs and new openings here. On an emerging island scene, one new venue can completely change your options.
WHERE
TO PLAY.
See current and upcoming Gili padel venues, including court information, prices, facilities, booking details and BPS updates.
FIND YOUR
ISLAND COURT.
With fewer courts available, check the latest club information before choosing where to stay or planning your game.
STAY.
EAT. DRINK. DO.
This is where the Gili guide becomes much more than a court directory. Choosing the right places around your game can shape the entire trip.
STAY
From lively Gili T accommodation to quieter island resorts, where you stay should match the kind of Gili experience you want.
EAT
Beachfront restaurants, cafés and local food make eating your way around the islands part of the experience.
DRINK
Gili T is the obvious choice for nightlife, while Air offers a more relaxed social scene and Meno keeps things considerably quieter.
DO
Snorkelling, diving, swimming, cycling and sunset sessions mean there's no shortage of ways to fill the hours between games.
GOOD
TO KNOW.
The Gilis are reached by boat, so factor your departure point, transfer and onward travel into the trip rather than treating them like another Bali neighbourhood.
Staying on one Gili doesn't mean you're locked there for the entire trip. Inter-island travel makes it possible to experience more than one.
With a limited number of courts, check availability rather than assuming you'll be able to organise a game after arriving.
WHICH GILI
SHOULD YOU PICK?
Start with the trip you want — then see where padel fits.
Gili Trawangan makes sense if you want the most happening around you. Gili Air offers a more balanced island escape. Gili Meno is for switching off almost completely.
The BPS difference is that we'll keep adding the places worth staying, eating and drinking alongside the courts — so you can build the whole trip, not just book a game.
