ULUWATU
Padel in the morning, brunch down a side street, a few hours by the pool and sunset drinks above the ocean. Uluwatu is a BPS favourite because no two days here need to look quite the same.
An expanding mix of clubs, coaching and social play.
Padel mixed with beaches, dining and sunset sessions.
The Bukit is spread out, so transport makes a big difference.
Surf culture, visitors, expats and an increasingly social padel scene.
WHY
ULUWATU?
Uluwatu is a place where you can wake up and feel like you're having a new little adventure every day.
A pretty typical Uluwatu day can start with a morning padel game, followed by brunch somewhere tucked down a side street, a few hours relaxing by a pool, then sunset drinks overlooking the ocean and some of the Bukit's beautiful white-sand beaches.
It keeps changing too. New cafés, restaurants, wellness spaces and padel clubs seem to appear between BPS visits. But depending on where you base yourself, parts of the Bukit can still feel a little like stepping back in time — quieter roads, local warungs and a simpler pace of life.
That's a big part of Uluwatu's appeal. It suits travellers who want padel to be part of the trip without needing it to be the whole trip — and who are happy exploring rather than having everything immediately outside the hotel.
WHERE TO
BASE YOURSELF.
Where you stay matters here. “Uluwatu” covers a much bigger part of the Bukit than many first-time visitors expect, and each pocket gives you a slightly different version of the area.
BINGIN
One of the strongest pockets for cafés, restaurants and beach life close by. It's lively by Bukit standards and a handy base for anyone who likes being near the action.
PADANG PADANG
A good middle ground if you want to explore the western side of the Bukit. You're close to famous surf breaks, beaches and plenty of places to eat and drink.
PECATU
/ ULUWATU
This is the dramatic side of the Bukit: cliffs, surf and some seriously good sunset spots. Stay around here if that classic Uluwatu feeling is high on your list.
UNGASAN
More inland and generally more spread out. A strong option when space, villas and easier access across different parts of the Bukit matter more than being able to walk to the beach.
WHERE
TO PLAY.
Uluwatu has become one of the areas BPS is watching most closely as Bali's padel scene grows. Around the Bukit you'll find everything from dedicated padel venues to lifestyle clubs where a game is only one part of the day. BPS is working through them first-hand — playing, meeting the people behind the clubs and building guides around the practical details worth knowing before booking.

WHY BPS
KEEPS COMING BACK.
BPS keeps returning to Uluwatu because it offers one of the best balances of padel, beaches, food and downtime on the Bukit.
You can have a proper game of padel in the morning and still feel like the rest of the day is completely open — beach, pool, a long lunch, exploring somewhere new or finding a spot for sunset.
It's busier than it used to be and some parts of the Bukit are changing quickly, but there are still moments where everything feels slower and simpler. That's the BPS sweet spot: enough happening that you're never short of somewhere to play, eat or drink, without losing the feeling that you've actually escaped somewhere.
For a Bali trip built around padel that still needs to feel like much more than a padel trip, Uluwatu sits high on the BPS list.
