BPS DESTINATION GUIDE

SANUR

SANUR · RENON

Beachfront paths, sunrise swims, restaurants and a more relaxed pace — with padel increasingly part of the mix. Sanur offers an easy-going alternative to Bali's busier west coast while keeping plenty within reach.

PADEL SCENE GROWING

An expanding local scene with more options appearing on Bali's east coast.

BEST FOR EASY-GOING BALI

Beach, restaurants and padel without the intensity of the west coast.

GETTING AROUND RELATIVELY EASY

Sanur is easier to navigate than many of Bali's busier visitor hubs.

THE VIBE RELAXED + ESTABLISHED

Beachfront, laid-back and well suited to a slower Bali stay.

WHY
SANUR?

Sanur is one of the easiest places in Bali to settle into quickly.

The beachfront path changes the rhythm of the place. Mornings can start with sunrise, a walk or ride along the water, breakfast nearby and a padel booking without the day ever feeling rushed. Restaurants, cafés and established hotels are easy to fold in around it.

That's what makes Sanur interesting to BPS. Padel is becoming part of an already established destination rather than defining it. It suits a Bali trip where playing regularly matters, but so does having a beach, good food and a noticeably slower pace waiting afterwards.

WHERE TO
BASE YOURSELF.

Sanur stretches along the east coast rather than revolving around one central point. Where you stay can change how close you are to the beach, restaurants and the places you want to play.

01

SANUR

BEACH · DINING · WALKABLE

The main coastal base and the easiest choice if you want the beach, restaurants, cafés and accommodation woven into the same stay. Different pockets run north to south, so location still matters.

02

RENON

LOCAL · CENTRAL · CONNECTED

Inland from the beach and closer to central Denpasar. Renon gives the wider BPS Sanur area a more local side and can be useful when your plans extend beyond the beachfront strip.

03 THE PADEL SCENE

PLAYING
SANUR.

Sanur is becoming an increasingly interesting part of Bali's expanding padel map.

The scene isn't as dense as Canggu, but that's not necessarily a disadvantage. Sanur gives players the opportunity to combine regular games with a noticeably more relaxed destination.

Its location also puts you within reach of clubs elsewhere around Denpasar, giving you more playing options than the Sanur name alone might suggest.

GOOD
TO KNOW.

LOCATION SANUR RUNS NORTH TO SOUTH.

Don't assume every Sanur hotel or club is close together. Check where you are along the coast when choosing your accommodation and courts.

GETTING AROUND ONE OF THE EASIER BASES.

Parts of Sanur are particularly suited to walking and cycling, although you'll still need transport for clubs or attractions further away.

ISLAND HOPPING A USEFUL JUMPING-OFF POINT.

Sanur is also a practical base if your Bali trip includes time on the Nusa Islands, making it easy to combine different destinations in one trip.

BPS VERDICT

WHO IS
SANUR FOR?

Sanur is for travellers who want Bali to feel straightforward, relaxed and close to the water.

The appeal isn't the density or constant activity found further west. It's being able to play, then return to a part of Bali where walking the beachfront, finding lunch or doing very little can be the rest of the plan.

BPS likes Sanur for that balance. It works particularly well for couples, families and mixed groups where some people want court time and others want an easy beach holiday — without either side having to compromise too much.
